Your greenery is one the best hiding and transporting area for rodent. Cut your back vegetation that give them shelter. Trim trees in a way to give at least 1m space between them and any entry of your house (window, roof top . . . ) and 0.5 m between them and the ground.
Keep your dumpsters and other outside trash receptacles cover as tightly as possible.
Seal the entry points. Mice can squeeze through openings slightly larger than 6 mm across. Inspect your home’s exterior, seal spaces around exterior vents and pipes and others. Make sure all screens are in place.
Install a “sweeper” that seals garage doors and other doors to the home.
Take away the grub. Put all foodstuffs – that includes dog food – in metal or glass containers. Just placing food up high in the pantry isn’t enough; mice can crawl up even vertical surfaces that have a texture.
